Mike Provance builds profitable, scalable technology-based businesses and gives others tools to do the same. He serves as an advisor on organizational decision-making and strategic innovation to Fortune 500 corporations, associations, government organizations, and emerging ventures. He teaches entrepreneurship and strategy to executives and in top-rated universities while completing his doctorate. His writing centers on innovators, their decision making, and the actions they use to gain competitive advantage.
Provance co-founded Provance Asymmetric as Cayenne Informatics in 2002 along with colleague, Rich Hamer, who is now at Origene. Prior to this, he served for more than ten years as founder, in management roles or as an advisor for several emerging ventures and established companies from information technology, biotechnology, and technology investment sectors. These companies included Viaken Systems (a biotechnology concern), US Interactive, CBS/Westinghouse, Imperative! Software and the Ben Franklin Partnership (an early-stage venture capital firm).
